Cottontail Bunny Garland

I have been dying to try cutting fabric with my Silhouette Cameo for a while. Since Easter is coming up, I decided to make this adorable cottontail bunny garland using paper-backed burlap.

First, I downloaded a bunny template from the Silhouette Online Store. This template was a bundle of 5 bunnies, so I ungrouped them and selected the bunny that was facing away.

I duplicated the design several times.

Then I attached the burlap to my cutting mat.

After all the pieces were cut, I separated a cotton ball into pieces and glued them on as tails.

Finally, I hot glued the bunnies to a piece of twine using a bunny as a measure for spacing.

  4. Hi Ginger! I really love your garland. It came out sooo cute! And such a great idea to cut the burlap on your Silhouette. Not sure if you know, but along with Two It Yourself, I also have Silhouette School. I would love to feature this project on Silhouette School. I would put a short paragraph describing the project, a single photo and then link over to your full post. Let me know what you think! I'm sure my readers would love it!!! - Melissa (feel free to email me as well Melissa(underscore)Viscount(at)Yahoo(dot)com

    1. It was part of the Rustic Textures pad by Recollections from Michael's. There was just the one sheet in the pad but I was able to get 10 bunnies from it. Hope that helps!

  13. I love this. Do you think I could just iron burlap into freezer paper and use that?

    1. I think that would work, although I have never tried it. I did notice that there were spots that did not adhere when I used the freezer paper on the Stenciled Tote bag.

You could also use fabric interfacing.
