Spring Door Hangers

I was looking through a weekly ad and saw Spring door hangers. I thought it would be fun to make one (or two) myself.

I hit the wood cut-out section at Michael's. I chose a large wooden plaque in two designs, coordinating laser-cut pieces, and wooden initials. Then I grabbed a roll of jute ribbon.

First, I painted the pieces. I used my favorite aqua color, a pale pink, and Springy yellow. I used black for the initials.

Mod Decoupaged Eggs

I have been throwing around ideas for decorating Easter eggs for a few weeks. I was going to do burlap wrapped, then washi tape decorated, then fabric wrapped, and I finally decided on decoupaged.

I used ordinary plastic eggs, Mod Podge, and this fun wrapping paper from Michael's.

Easy Stenciled Nautical Tote

 

I had another post all set to publish today but I just couldn't get excited about it. I wanted something different and fun and new. So much for having projects done ahead of time and waiting in the queue!!

I made a quick trip to Michael's after work to pick up a pack of canvas totes, craft paint, stippling sponges, and ribbon. I had a 40% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket, after all!!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut an anchor stencil out of freezer paper. You could also print one out, trace it onto the paper, and cut it out by hand. Make sure you use freezer paper and not wax paper. Freezer paper is only waxy on one side.

DIY Paper Flowers

I recently bought a template for a multi-layered flower. I didn't have any real plan for it, I just thought it would be fun to try. And I was right! This may be my new addiction.

To look at it, you would think it was very complicated to assemble. There are a few steps but the process is fast. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the pieces but it could be done by hand also.

I ungrouped the images of the template because I wanted the stamen pieces to be a contrasting color. I simply moved them to the side and formatted the flower pieces to fit a letter sized sheet of paper.
