I found this laminated burlap a while back at Michael's. I knew it was a cool product but wasn't really sure what to use it for. Then I found one of their free project sheets with a tutorial for the place mats. I had to try it!
The first step was to cut 4 equal pieces of the burlap. Next, I created the stencils using my Silhouette Cameo. I chose a simple font and cut out the word "delicious" in English, Italian, Spanish, and French. This can also be easily done using an alphabet stencil.
I used an ink pen to trace the stencil and a black acrylic paint to fill it in.
I needed 2 rolls of the laminated burlap to make 4 place mats. Each roll was less than $4 and I was able to complete this project in under an hour.
